At some point in your life you got to face yourself. Like, you got to look in that mirror and see your face. Of course I realize that some fortunate people out there are born knowing themselves inside and out. These are the girls you meet in school who are eternally smiling - even when they've forgotton to do their homework. These are the people who are so confident with theselves, that they are not afraid to play the fool and look silly.
I have always envied those who can so effortlessly be silly. 'Cause they sure look as if they're having a ball. To be able to do that requires confidence. I know that now.
It's amazing how liberating it is to feel that its OK to be laughed at. To know that you don't always have to be perfect, that you cant always please everyone.
The world out there is harsh and judging, there's no doubt about that. But then, so what?
As long as you know that you're doing the right thing, does it matter what the world thinks? They would want you to conform to their ideals, but really who are they to tell you what you should and should not do?
Just because I am geeky, does that make me weird? Just bcause I am humble, that doesn't give you the right to walk all over me. Just because I am shy, that doesn't mean I don't have feelings too.
So I am a girl who likes laser tag, and math, and programming. So what? I'm sorry I cannot conform to your perfect witty charming accomplished female ideal.
But I don't care now.
Because you see, while you're worrying and criticising people, you fail to see their beauty that lies within. So it is your loss.
Life is not a frikking popularity contest.
