Another year gone! Where do the days go huh? Seriously is it just me or does anyone else been subject to extreme time loss as well? Hmm maybe Mulder's conspiracy theory was right all along!
So these are the last few days of 2009... What have I been doing? Hmm lets see...
Week started on Sunday with me and my friends tuning on to the Avatar hype - we really wanted to see it last Sunday but we had to postpone it because we couldn't get tickets on short notice.
Monday saw me dragging myself off to work. Really its such a crime when you have to work in the last week of December :( What with the whole festive mood and all. And almost everyone goes on leave that the office is so deserted! Nothing is as depressing during office hours as being surrounded by empty desks and blank screens - serving as constant reminders to you that somewhere, someone is frolicking in the golden sands of Trinco/ living it up in Bangkok/ Sleeping till noon while , YOU are NOT.
On Tuesday I made a startling discovery. After working in Eclipse for nearly 6 years ( that is if you count the 'I
love Java' days at uni) I just found out that you can actually have workspaces configured for breakpoints. And this is something that I've often wished they'd have too. Imagine my surprise/dismay when I discover its been there all along!
For those of you who have no idea what a workspace is, its like grouping the breakpoints and setting one group to be active for debugging at a time? This is really really helpful if you're working on several bugs at the same time - so that halfway though a bug investigation, if you had to debug another completely different bug, you can just create a new breakpoint workspace and your old set of breakpoints would still be untouched... And for those of you who have no idea what a breakpoint is, ... OK never mind.
On Wednesday, that is today, I have fulfilled one of my lifelong dreams. Um ok maybe not lifelong. :D But definitely something I've really really wa
nted.
Estee Lauder Pleasures Intense! First took my sniff of this heavenly scent 2 years ago when I went perfume shopping for a friend. I tried this on and when I went home about 6 hours later, I could still smell it ...
And I heard the funniest story during lunch today : Have a friend who lives at Park road, and evidently when she woke up yest morning, there was this huuuge porcupine at the front door! Needless to say, she freaked out, and being an animal lover, wanted to make sure the poor porcupine wouldn't get hurt, so unable to find the zoo number, she called 119 (!). This is the convo she had:
friend : මේ... අපේ ගෙදර දොර ගාව ඉත්තෑවෙක් ඇවිත්. ඌව අරන් යන්න පුලුවන්ද?
119 : කොහෙන්ද කතා කරන්නෙ?
friend : පාක් රෝඩ්
119 : හං පාක් රෝඩ් එකේ ඉත්තෑවෙක් ද? එහෙනම් මරා ගෙන කන එකයි ඇත්තෙ.
Thursday.... *sigh Last day of the year!
Lets see now... what shall I do on Thursay the 31st of Decemeber 2009? Hmmm
Firstly, I'm going to wake up around 10 am ( hehe ) and then...
oh well I'll take it from there :D

they finally found the Wildlife dept's number and called them - who came and put the porcupine in a sack and took it away...
Avatar was great! But its sad that Liberty doesn't have IMAX 3d :(
