I think I will vote this election…

And I think you should too. I will not tell you whom to vote for. That is entirely upto you. But please, vote for someone.

As for myself, I am someone who have only voted once before – and I am 26. What with all that horrible ink stain that refuses to go away for days, and the fact that I had no real interest, and felt no sense of responsibility nor connection with politics put me off the whole voting thing.

But you see, I have realized that we can't just wipe our hands off our responsibility of voting in a president. Yes, the way I see it, it is not just our constitutional right, but also our responsibility. I've heard somewhere that people get the leaders they deserve. So what if you don't care much for any of the candidates? There is always a choice and you have to make one.

Fact is, we have to work with what we've got. If you feel like something should change, vote for the person who you believe will make that change. If you feel something should stay the same, vote for he who will ensure that.

Can't be bothered to decide between the candidates? Tough. But you can't enjoy the fruits of democracy without taking on some responsibility as well.

Voting gives you a voice. You think one vote wont count? One vote becomes hundred, and thousand and more when one is combined with others who think like you.

Oh and another thing – if you can't be bothered to cast a ballot, you really don't have any right to complain about the government/president you don't agree with – no matter how much they suck. :)

So please, VOTE!

Thanks guys! I was a little mad at someone who seemed to be proud of not voting...He seems to think of it as a sort of passive resistance.

I couldn't agree with you more. I really do hope people vote, otherwise politicians won't even bother to give boru promises to convince anyone!

  7. Haha good post sis.as somebody said, its choice in a collective effort.

But sometimes, the government too snatches our voting rights. For example, yesterday we got the so called chanda kole.but both my dad's and bro's ones r missing:( .so asked them to meet grama sewaka and see .my bro was eargerly waiting to cast his first vote but now he says he wont meet anybody and he wont vote.

And that stain. Yeah, last time i had that for almost a month

:ps: pls remove the word verification.

haha some corrupt politician would probably hijack your ballot paper and use up your vote if its known in your area that you're abroad!
I actually got two ballot papers this time around. Seems they have registered me for two electorates!

Bluetooth support on Android Emulator

I have been playing around with Android lately, and one thing that annoyed me is the emulator does not support Bluetooth (as opposed to J2ME emulator, which does). So if you do not have an actual Android device (like me), and you want to do Bluetooth/WiFi programming, you run in to a problem. Fortunately, there is a way out - Install the Android image on a VM and use your own Bluetooth device. This is what I did: Download Androidx86 from http://www.android-x86.org/ . This is an .iso file, so you'd need something like VMWare or VirtualBox to run it. Me, I use VirtualBox. When creating the virtual machine, you need to set the type of guest OS as Linux instead of Other. After creating the virtual machine, set the network adapter to 'Bridged'. Start the VM and select 'Live CD VESA' at boot. Now you need to find out the ip of this VM. Go to terminal in VM (use Alt+F1 & Alt+F7 to toggle) and use the netcfg command to find this. Now you need open a command
