I have noticed that whenever I come across cherry flavoured chocolates, the ones that have gooey syrupy cherry mush inside them - they always taste like medicine! Rather like those cough syrups we were given when we were small.
I used to think it was just me, but today someone brought some Cadbury chocolate and two other people in my team commented that it tastes medicine-y. I'm sure Cadbury wont use fake flavouring so is it us?? Have we been 'taste washed' by all those cough syrups that we were given as kids so that we associate the real cherry flavour with medicine?
Scary.

hm...was it the indian cadbury? then it's probably yuck.. :D not being bias..but the quality of indian vs aussie/uk cadbury is world's apart!
ReplyDelete@Dee no it was aussie cadbury..boysenberry shortcake or something. thats why its weird.
ReplyDeleteNah. It is other way around just like the bottle says. Medicine is what taste like cherry candy. Well, in this case, you tasted medicine before cherry candy, and you think the flavor belong to the medicine. Not only that, since we have the assumption medicine have to be taste bad, now even cherry candy taste not so good. Isn’t it?
ReplyDeleteDon’t worry. It could be worst. Sometimes kids tastes X or Y race or religion, and then later stage they confuse why humans are like X or Y race too. :) Just like cherry candy.
LOL wow ok i never thought about it like that...
ReplyDeletescary shit < cue xfiles music>
:D
@Sam I think you're right. Makes you wonder about perception doesn't it? How does one ever know if her version of reality is the right version?
ReplyDelete@Gehan uh huh..Do you think there's a government conspiracy against cherry flavouring? :D
Cherry flavor? Unfortunately I have no idea of that ;)
ReplyDeleteBut I wonder why Booster (Energy drink) taste like the syrups my mom forced me to drink when I was a kid. They are sweet but there's something wrong with the taste.
