A convo I had with a friend of mine today triggered me to write this post...I've always been a Rain Person, aka someone who loves rain.
I love watching the rain come down!, walking in the rain, listening to the sound of rain on a stormy night ...But most of all I love to curl up with a hot mug of coffee on a rainy afternoon and sit by my window and just...enjoy the show!!
Anyway today morning was bright and sunny (like in those stupid essays we used to write in 7th grade) and my friend was saying how much she loves sunny days and how much she hates it when it rains!
I was like 'WHAT? how can you not like rain??' (shudder shudder)
This reminds me of some of my other friends who wouldnt put a foot out of the house if its raining. Honestly its just WATER for gods sake!
Am I missing something here???
This brings me to another point: Apparently there are two kinds of people in the office - Those who want ALL the lights on and those who want to stay in the dim forgotten darkness. Some people seem to work in utter darkness! If you switch on light they're like 'SWITCH IT OFF' - as if Bush has declared war on SL. Hmph!
On the other hand I dont like the miss (& mr) Bright Sunshines either. These people want the lights lit up like a Thorana...(Rolls eyes)
Anyway thats all the mindless chatter I can come up with right now....

Yeah Rain is great, as long as it doesn't fall when I have something important planned out he he :D. I hate having to carry umbrellas around.
ReplyDeleteFor some reason I like being in a car with some nice music when its pouring outside. The lights on/off thing is absolutely true. I'm definitely a dim light person (even with countless warnings as a child from my mum that it'll ruin my vision). Actually my room back in Colombo is painted and lit such that its almost not possible say if its day or night.
ReplyDeleteOMG where do you stay? I need to give you a dozen roses and an umbrella :) Im definitely on the same page with you on the rain and the dim light. And its so hard to find a kindred spirit on this. Ive been looked at like ive lost more than a few marbles when this comes up in a convo. :)
ReplyDeleteSeriously, how can people hate rain? I mean, theres something thats just undeniably cool about a rainy day. The whole cosy, dark feeling... oh man I love that. Cup o' cocoa, warm toasted and buttered bread, book, bed on a dark and cool rainy day... man thats heaven :)

dilina: I know! Dont u love waking up at dawn to the sound of rain and then finding out you have a few more hours till u need to wake up..and then u can softly drift to sleep while listening to the pitter patter of rain drops...
